Farmer Mantu Yadav Gunned Down by Five Masked Gunmen in Bahiyar, Lakhsiraj

A 45‑year‑old farmer, Mantu Yadav, was shot dead by five masked men while returning with harvested grass near Bahiyar village in Lakhsiraj district on Friday morning.
On Friday at around 11 a.m., Mantu Yadav, a 45‑year‑old farmer from the Adarsh Lakshmipur hamlet near Bahiyar in Lakhsiraj district, was shot dead while walking back with harvested grass. According to his relatives, five men wearing masks surrounded him and fired two bullets, the second of which proved fatal.
Family members said the assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting. The tragedy follows a similar incident three months earlier, when Mantu's father was also killed under suspicious circumstances, raising fears of a targeted pattern against the family.
Local police have registered a murder case and are canvassing the area for witnesses and CCTV footage. Officials have not yet identified any motive or suspects, but they have appealed to the public for information that could lead to arrests.
