Police say a family dispute and blackmail drove the killing of Ankit Patel, leading to the arrest of his wife, brother and an associate.
The Madhya Pradesh police investigation into the murder of Ankit Patel has identified a family quarrel and alleged blackmail as the primary motives behind the crime. According to officials, the victim's wife, his brother and a close associate were apprehended after mobile data from the suspects yielded crucial evidence linking them to the planning of the homicide.
Investigators said the suspects allegedly used threats and extortion to coerce Patel, culminating in a premeditated act that resulted in his death. The police have not disclosed further details about the nature of the blackmail, but they emphasized that the evidence recovered from the suspects' phones was instrumental in establishing a conspiratorial link.
All three individuals remain in custody while the case proceeds through the legal system. Authorities have pledged to continue probing the network of relationships surrounding the victim to uncover any additional accomplices.
