Ex-Manipur CM N. Biren Singh accuses BJP leaders of plotting his ouster

Former Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh publicly alleged that senior members of the Bharatiya Janata Party orchestrated his removal from the chief ministerial post. Speaking at a press briefing in Imphal, Singh said internal party manoeuvring, rather than administrative reasons, led to his ouster earlier this year. He pointed to a series of meetings among BJP leaders that, in his view, culminated in a coordinated effort to replace him.

Singh also highlighted that the state continues to experience episodes of ethnic violence, questioning whether the political upheaval has exacerbated the security situation. He urged the central government to intervene and restore stability, emphasizing that ongoing unrest threatens the lives of ordinary citizens.

While refusing to name specific individuals, Singh called for an impartial investigation into the alleged plot and demanded accountability from those responsible for both his removal and the failure to curb the violence that has plagued Manipur in recent months.
