The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) carried out a raid on the flat of executive engineer Narad Kumar Das’s in‑laws in Muzaffarpur on Thursday. Police officers seized ₹51.5 lakh in cash during the operation.
The raid was conducted under the framework of an income‑exceeding‑assets case, where the EOU is investigating whether the engineer’s declared income matches his assets.
Along with the flat, the EOU team also conducted searches at four other locations, all linked to the same investigation.
No arrests were reported at the time of the raid, and the seized cash is being held for further inquiry.
