EMU Derails at Chennai Fort, Halting Suburban Trains

A suburban EMU train derailed close to Chennai Fort railway station early this morning, derailing several coaches and damaging the track. The incident halted all EMU services on the affected line for several hours, leading to delays for commuters traveling to and from the city centre. Railway officials confirmed that no passengers were injured, but a few staff members were treated for minor injuries. Emergency response teams were dispatched to clear the wreckage and restore the track. The railway authorities have announced that services will resume once the track is inspected and repaired, and commuters are advised to use alternate routes.
