The sequel 'Awarapan 2' amassed a total of Rs 108 crore in India by its sixth day, confirming its strong box‑office performance.
The latest release starring Emraan Hashmi, 'Awarapan 2', continued its impressive run this week, crossing the Rs 108 crore mark in domestic collections by the end of its sixth day. The film, a sequel to the 2007 thriller, opened to strong occupancy across multiplexes and single‑screen theatres nationwide.
Industry trackers reported that the movie earned roughly Rs 20 crore on its opening day, with steady growth in the following days, culminating in the six‑day total. This performance places the film among the highest‑grossing Indian releases of the year so far.
Analysts attribute the robust earnings to a combination of Hashmi's star power, aggressive marketing, and positive word‑of‑mouth among audiences. Distributors are now projecting that the film could breach the Rs 150 crore threshold if the current trend persists, reinforcing its status as a major commercial success in the Bollywood market.
