A 73‑year‑old pilgrim returning from Pandharpur was killed when his vehicle collided with two others near Beed, Maharashtra, injuring 11 people.
A 73‑year‑old pilgrim from Maharashtra was killed in a three‑vehicle collision on a rural road near Beed district on Thursday. The accident involved a private car, a truck and a motorcycle, all of which were heavily damaged.
According to local police, the vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the car, carrying the pilgrim, collided with the truck. The motorcycle was hit by the truck as it attempted to avoid the impact. Eleven people, including passengers in the truck and the motorcycle, sustained injuries ranging from minor cuts to serious fractures.
Emergency services arrived within minutes and transported the injured to the nearest hospital in Beed town. The deceased was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have sealed the area and are conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash.
