Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde slammed Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif after the latter removed Indian PM Narendra Modi from a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation photo, claiming he could "remove Pakistan from the world picture".
During a press briefing, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed strong disapproval of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for cropping Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi from a group photograph taken at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
Shinde said that Sharif’s action was a deliberate political snub and added that he could "remove Pakistan from the world picture" if necessary.
The comment comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan over border and security issues, and reflects the growing frustration among Indian leaders over what they see as Pakistan’s diplomatic provocations.
Shinde’s remarks were met with a mix of support and criticism within India, with some politicians praising the bold stance and others cautioning against further escalation.
