Around 200 students from the Eklavya residential school in Jaitpur set out on foot towards Shahdol to voice their unresolved problems, despite a recent visit by the divisional commissioner that failed to improve conditions. The students cited issues such as inadequate facilities, lack of basic amenities, and concerns over hostel life, saying that authorities had not acted on earlier complaints. After attempts by local officials to persuade them to return, many students went back to the school, while the remainder were arranged transportation by bus to Shahdol to meet the acting collector. The acting collector listened to the grievances and assured the students that their concerns would be forwarded to the concerned departments for timely redressal.
