Surveillance video from the station premises also showed interactions that raised suspicion.
The eight officers have been relieved of duty pending further inquiry, and the matter has been forwarded to the departmental inquiry board for a formal hearing. The police department has emphasized its zero‑tolerance stance on corruption and promised swift justice to restore public confidence.
