A stray mixer pipe that struck an 11‑kilovolt power line in a Jhunjhunu village in Rajasthan caused eight deaths and five injuries.

A mixer pipe, being transported in a Jhunjhunu village of Rajasthan, inadvertently came into contact with an 11 kV overhead electricity line. The contact caused a sudden surge that electrocuted eight people on the spot and injured five others who were nearby.

Emergency services rushed to the scene after local residents raised the alarm. Paramedics provided first aid to the injured before transporting them to the nearest hospital, while the deceased were taken for post‑mortem examination.

The power supply to the affected area was temporarily switched off to allow technicians to secure the damaged line and prevent further accidents. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine how the pipe came to strike the live wire and to assess compliance with safety regulations.

Local officials have urged residents to maintain a safe distance from overhead power lines and to report any suspicious activity that could endanger public safety.
