Police in Jodhpur have filed an FIR against eight suspects, including a patwari and a bank manager, for forging documents to seize 22 bighas of ancestral land worth about ₹20 crore from a mentally ill senior citizen.
Jodhpur police have opened a criminal investigation after a senior citizen, described as mentally unwell, reported that his ancestral land was illegally appropriated. The property, spanning 22 bighas, is valued at roughly ₹20 crore and is located on the outskirts of the city.
According to the FIR, the accused fabricated a fake "Mukhtarnama" to claim ownership of the land. The alleged conspirators include a local patwari, a bank manager, and six other individuals who allegedly coordinated the fraud and facilitated the transfer of the title.
The police have detained all eight suspects and are conducting a detailed inquiry into the document forgery, financial transactions, and any collusion with local officials. The investigation aims to recover the seized land and restore ownership to the rightful heir.
