On Monday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out coordinated raids at the Park Hospital chain in the Punjab cities of Bathinda and Patiala. The agency served formal notices to the hospital administration as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged financial irregularities.
ED officials entered the premises, secured relevant areas, and began a thorough examination of the hospitals' accounting records, patient billing documents, and other financial paperwork. Sources familiar with the operation said the raids were aimed at uncovering possible violations of money‑laundering and foreign exchange regulations.
The raids were conducted under the authority of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, and the ED has indicated that further action will depend on the findings of the document review. Hospital representatives have not yet commented on the investigation.
