The Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out a raid on the home of a former Punjab minister and his son on Thursday, seizing a range of documents and records linked to a disproportionate assets case.
The operation, which was conducted in the early hours, targeted the property in the city of Ludhiana, where the minister’s family is believed to have accumulated wealth that exceeds their declared income. According to the ED, the seized materials include bank statements, property deeds and other financial records.
The minister’s office has not yet released a statement. The ED has said that the raid is part of a broader investigation into alleged financial irregularities involving several high‑profile politicians. The agency has requested that the case be forwarded to the Central Bureau of Investigation for further scrutiny.
