ED conducts raids on ex‑West Bengal minister Indranil Sen in Durga Puja fund probe

The Enforcement Directorate has carried out searches on former West Bengal minister Indranil Sen and several others as part of the ongoing Durga Puja fund investigation.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) executed coordinated searches on former West Bengal minister Indranil Sen and a number of associates on Tuesday, expanding the probe into alleged irregularities in the collection and utilisation of Durga Puja funds.
Sources said the raids were conducted at multiple locations linked to Sen, including his residence and offices, where officials seized documents and electronic devices for forensic analysis.
The Durga Puja fund case, first reported earlier this year, alleges that funds raised for the festival were diverted for personal or political use. While the ED has not disclosed the exact number of people searched, it confirmed that several individuals connected to the minister were also examined.
No arrests have been announced so far, and the department has indicated that further action will depend on the outcome of the ongoing investigation.
The development adds pressure on the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, as the party grapples with multiple legal challenges ahead of upcoming elections.
