The Enforcement Directorate has taken into custody a senior liaison alleged to have facilitated the misappropriation of Development Mission Fund money in Chhattisgarh.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday arrested a senior liaison who is accused of playing a pivotal role in the diversion of funds earmarked under the Development Mission Fund (DMF) in Chhattisgarh. The arrest follows a prolonged investigation into alleged financial irregularities linked to the state‑level implementation of the DMF scheme.

According to a statement released by the ED, the suspect was identified as a key intermediary who coordinated between government officials and private entities to channel the earmarked money for unauthorized purposes. The agency said the arrest was made at the suspect's residence after gathering sufficient evidence of involvement in the misappropriation.

The DMF, a centrally funded program aimed at accelerating development projects in under‑served districts, has come under scrutiny after multiple complaints of fund leakage. The ED’s action underscores its intensified focus on financial crimes that affect public welfare schemes.

Law enforcement officials have not disclosed the name of the arrested individual, citing procedural requirements. Further investigations are underway to trace the flow of the misappropriated funds and to identify any additional conspirators.

The case adds to a series of recent anti‑corruption drives across the country, where agencies are probing the misuse of central and state development funds.
