The Election Commission of India has logged 5.43 lakh Form‑7 filings from voters across Telangana, indicating a high level of electoral participation ahead of upcoming polls.
The Election Commission of India announced that it has received a total of 5.43 lakh Form‑7 applications from the state of Telangana. Form‑7 is the standard voter‑registration form used for updating or correcting electoral rolls.
The surge in applications reflects heightened public interest as the state prepares for the next assembly and Lok Sabha elections. The commission said the submissions were received through its online portal as well as at designated district offices.
Officials added that the data will be processed in the coming weeks to ensure the electoral roll is up‑to‑date before the election schedule is announced. No discrepancies have been reported so far.
The ECI urged citizens to verify their details and complete any pending formalities to avoid exclusion from the voter list.
