The eastern Indian states have reached a consensus to strengthen inter‑state coordination to combat left‑wing extremism, organized crime and related security challenges.

The eastern Indian states have agreed to intensify coordination to tackle left‑wing extremism (LWE), organized crime and other security threats. The resolution was adopted during a meeting of state officials, who pledged to share intelligence, conduct joint operations and coordinate law‑enforcement efforts. The move comes amid rising LWE activity in the region and expanding organized crime networks. Officials said the strengthened coordination will help curb insurgency, restore law and order and focus on community engagement and socio‑economic development.
