Actor Dulquer Salmaan has been announced as the Guest of Honour for the 2026 edition of the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.
The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) has named Malayalam actor Dulquer Salmaan as its Guest of Honour for the 2026 edition.
The announcement was made during a press briefing in Mumbai on Monday, with festival organisers highlighting Salmaan’s growing international profile.
IFFM, which celebrates Indian cinema in Australia, will run from 12 to 18 March 2026 in Melbourne’s Arts Centre. Salmaan is expected to attend the opening ceremony, give a keynote address, and participate in a panel discussion on cross‑cultural film collaborations.
The festival’s chief executive, Priyanka Sharma, said that Salmaan’s presence would “strengthen ties between Indian and Australian film industries” and attract a wider audience.
Salmaan, who has starred in films such as ‘Premam’ and ‘Kali’, has previously appeared at international film festivals, making him a fitting choice for the role.
