Police in Mohali raided an illegal drug manufacturing unit in Ramgarh Bhudda, confiscating millions of tablets, capsules and Pentazocine injections.
Mohali police conducted a surprise raid on an unauthorised drug manufacturing unit located in the village of Ramgarh Bhudda, part of the Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district. The operation uncovered a large‑scale production line that was churning out tablets, capsules and injectable Pentazocine without any regulatory approval.
Investigators reported that the seizure included millions of finished dosage forms, along with raw chemicals and packaging material. The confiscated items are being sent to the state drug control laboratory for verification and further legal action.
The raid, carried out by the district crime branch in coordination with the Punjab State Drug Control Department, underscores a growing crackdown on illicit pharmaceutical operations that threaten public health. Authorities have lodged a case under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and are pursuing the individuals behind the enterprise.
No injuries were reported during the operation, and the police have urged the public to report any suspicious pharmaceutical activity in their neighbourhoods.
