The Department of Telecommunications' Digital Bharat Network (DBN) has signed a pact to launch the Amended BharatNet project across Jharkhand, aiming to expand broadband connectivity in the state.

The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has entered into an agreement with the Government of Jharkhand to implement the Amended BharatNet project across the state.

The Amended BharatNet, a flagship initiative under the National Broadband Mission, seeks to extend high‑speed broadband connectivity to underserved rural and remote areas.

Under the pact, DBN will coordinate with state agencies to deploy the necessary infrastructure, including fiber‑optic cables and base stations, across Jharkhand’s districts.

The project is expected to improve digital access for education, health, and e‑government services, aligning with the government's digital inclusion goals.

The agreement marks a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in Jharkhand and is part of the broader national push to make broadband available to all citizens.
