DoT Extends BSNL Chief Robert J Ravi’s Tenure Amid Plan for 100,000 New 4G Sites
The Department of Telecommunications has extended the service period of BSNL senior officer Robert J Ravi until Jan 15, 2027, as the company, in partnership with Tata Consultancy Services, works to roll out 100,000 new 4G sites nationwide.
The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has issued an order extending the tenure of BSNL senior officer Robert J Ravi by three months, now ending on Jan 15, 2027.
Ravi, a 1990‑batch senior officer credited with steering BSNL towards a successful economic recovery, will continue to lead the telecom public sector undertaking during this extended period.
Under his leadership, BSNL is collaborating with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) to install 100,000 new 4G sites across the country, a move aimed at expanding coverage and improving service quality.
The rollout forms part of BSNL’s broader strategy to modernise its network and strengthen its position in India’s competitive telecommunications market.
