Assam's chief minister announced that direct air services linking Guwahati and Bangkok will start on 27 October.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed that a direct flight corridor between Guwahati and Bangkok will be operational from 27 October. The announcement was made during a press briefing in Guwahati, highlighting the state's push to enhance international connectivity.
The new service is expected to reduce travel time for passengers heading to Thailand, eliminating the need for transits through other Indian hubs. Business travelers and tourists alike are likely to benefit from the streamlined route, which could boost tourism inflow to Assam's northeastern region.
Airlines are in the process of finalising schedules and fare structures, with details to be released shortly. The initiative aligns with the central government's broader agenda to expand air links with key Asian destinations.
