A tribal woman in Rewa died after being injured by lightning, as her family had to carry her on a cot for 2 km due to lack of ambulance access and poor road conditions.

A grim illustration of the state of healthcare and road infrastructure has emerged from a village in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. A tribal woman, who sustained injuries from a lightning strike, succumbed to her condition before receiving medical attention.

According to local reports, the absence of an ambulance and the severely dilapidated condition of the road connecting the village to medical facilities proved fatal. Her family was compelled to transport her on a cot for approximately two kilometers in a desperate attempt to reach a hospital.

The incident highlights the critical challenges faced by residents in remote areas regarding emergency medical services and accessibility, exacerbated by poor road networks.
