Dia Mirza Says ‘Deewaanapan’ Was Her Debut Film, Not ‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’

Dia Mirza, the Bollywood actress and former Miss Asia Pacific 1999, revealed in a recent interview that her first film role was in the 1999 romantic drama Deewaanapan, directed by Ashu Trikha, rather than the often‑cited debut Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein (2001). Deewaanapan, which starred Ajay Devgn and Mahima Chaudhary, featured Mirza in a supporting part, marking her entry into Hindi cinema shortly after her pageant win. Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, released two years later, achieved commercial success and is frequently associated with her early career, leading to the misconception. Mirza clarified the timeline while reflecting on her filmography, thanking fans for their support and noting that Deewaanapan was the project that introduced her to the industry. She added that, although she has since expanded into environmental activism and film production, her initial roles continue to interest audiences and film historians.
