Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister Dhar has called on political allies to back Dr Nonglait, arguing that the National People's Party’s development agenda will benefit the state’s representation in Delhi.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Dhar, has publicly urged political partners to support Dr Nonglait for a position that would enhance Meghalaya’s influence in Delhi. In a statement released by the state government, Dhar highlighted the National People's Party’s (NPP) development initiatives as a key reason for backing Dr Nonglait. He emphasized that aligning with the NPP’s agenda could bring more resources and attention to Meghalaya’s developmental needs.
Dhar’s appeal comes at a time when Meghalaya is seeking greater representation in national policymaking forums. By endorsing Dr Nonglait, the state aims to secure a stronger voice in Delhi’s political arena, potentially translating into increased funding and infrastructural projects for the northeastern state.
The Deputy Chief Minister concluded that a collaborative approach with the NPP would not only strengthen Meghalaya’s political standing but also ensure that the state’s developmental priorities are addressed at the national level.
