Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein presided over the opening ceremony of the National Space Day 2026 celebrations held in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh. The event, organized by local authorities in coordination with the Indian Space Research Organisation, marked the beginning of a week‑long programme that includes exhibitions, lectures and student workshops on space science.
Officials highlighted the importance of the observance for inspiring youth in the North‑East to pursue careers in science and technology. Exhibits showcased satellite models, remote‑sensing applications for agriculture and disaster management, and recent achievements of ISRO.
The Deputy Chief Minister reiterated the state government's commitment to strengthening science education and leveraging space technology for regional development. He urged students and teachers to actively engage with the activities scheduled throughout the week.
