Authorities continued the demolition of illegal structures in Satyaniketan even as rain fell, according to reports from Delhi.
The municipal demolition team resumed its operation in the Satyaniketan locality of Delhi on Tuesday, clearing structures that were deemed illegal despite a downpour that covered the area. Officials said the weather did not alter the schedule, as the campaign had been planned for weeks.
The demolition drive is part of a broader effort by the Delhi government to remove unauthorized constructions that obstruct public pathways and violate zoning regulations. Teams equipped with heavy machinery arrived early in the morning and proceeded to dismantle the identified buildings, following court orders issued earlier this month.
No injuries were reported, and local residents were advised to stay clear of the site for safety reasons. The authorities indicated that the operation would continue until all targeted structures are cleared, irrespective of further weather disruptions.
