Severe traffic congestion in Delhi led railway authorities to cancel seven trains passing through the Kota division and postpone two others by five hours.
Heavy vehicular congestion on Delhi's roads on Monday spilled over to the railway network, disrupting the schedule of several long‑distance services. The gridlock, which affected major arterial routes around the capital, forced Indian Railways to adjust its operations to ensure safety and manage passenger flow.
As a result, seven trains that traverse the Kota division were withdrawn from the timetable for the day. In addition, two other services were not cancelled but were delayed by approximately five hours, causing inconvenience to commuters traveling to and from the region.
Railway officials said the decision was taken after assessing the severity of the traffic and its impact on track access near key junctions. They urged passengers to check the latest updates on the official website and advised travelers to consider alternative modes of transport until normal service resumes.
