Delhi to Launch Yamuna Riverfront Project Modeled on Gujarat’s Sabarmati Revamp

Delhi’s municipal authorities unveiled a comprehensive plan to transform the Yamuna riverbank into a multi‑purpose public space. The proposal mirrors Gujarat’s Sabarmati riverfront project, aiming to create green parks, dedicated cycling lanes and sports grounds along the waterway. Officials said the design will integrate landscaping, pedestrian pathways and recreational amenities to boost the city’s livability and attract visitors. The initiative is part of a broader effort to rejuvenate Delhi’s riverfronts and address long‑standing environmental and urban‑space challenges. Detailed project reports and funding arrangements are expected to be finalised in the coming weeks.
