Delhi authorities plan to introduce daily bus services connecting the capital with six major cities in Bihar, enhancing connectivity and boosting regional trade.
Delhi Transport Department has announced a new initiative to run daily interstate bus services from the capital to six key cities in Bihar. The routes will link Delhi with Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Purnia and Begusarai, aiming to provide a reliable and affordable travel option for commuters and traders.
The buses are expected to operate at regular intervals, with the first service slated to begin in the coming weeks. Officials say the move will reduce travel time, lower transport costs, and support economic ties between the two states.
Transport Minister Arun Jaitley highlighted that the new service would also ease congestion on existing roadways and offer a safer alternative for long‑distance travelers. The government has earmarked funds for the procurement of new buses and the development of dedicated bus bays at major terminals.
