Manoj Singh, a 40‑year‑old street vendor from Bihar’s Nawada, was strangled with a belt outside Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi. The incident followed a minor altercation on the pavement.

Manoj Singh, a 40‑year‑old street vendor from Mai village in Bihar’s Nawada district, was found strangled with a belt outside Gate No. 3 of Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi.
Witnesses report that a minor quarrel over a customer dispute escalated when a passer‑by grabbed a belt from Singh’s clothing stall and used it to strangle him. Singh had been operating the stall for roughly twenty years.
Delhi Police have been called to the scene and are conducting an investigation. No suspect has been named yet, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The incident has shocked the local vendor community, many of whom have been selling clothes on the same pavement for decades. Singh’s family has expressed grief and called for stricter safety measures for street traders.
