In contrast, the IMD has issued a heavy rainfall alert for several states in the southern and northeastern regions, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, Assam, and Meghalaya. The forecast predicts rainfall amounts ranging from 100 to 200 millimetres in some areas.
