Authorities in Delhi are mobilising security ahead of a planned protest by the Chief Justice of India at Jantar Mantar, scheduled for later today.
Delhi police have announced heightened security arrangements at Jantar Mantar as the Chief Justice of India is set to lead a protest later today. The demonstration, organised by the CJP, is expected to draw a sizable crowd of legal professionals, activists and supporters.
The Metropolitan Police Commissioner said additional personnel, barricades and CCTV monitoring will be deployed to ensure public order and safety. Traffic on nearby roads, including the Delhi Ring Road, may be temporarily rerouted.
Officials have urged participants to remain peaceful and cooperate with law‑enforcement agencies. Any breach of the law will be dealt with strictly, the police added.
The protest follows a series of recent judicial statements calling for reforms in the legal system, though the exact agenda of the gathering has not been disclosed. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely as the event approaches.
