Delhi readied itself for the BRICS summit scheduled to take place from 15‑16 September 2024, with a city‑wide makeover that showcased the nation's artistic flair.
Artists from across the capital painted murals, banners and installations in public spaces, turning streets into a living gallery. The artwork, featuring motifs of cooperation and unity, was displayed in key locations such as Connaught Place, India Gate and several Delhi Metro stations.
The colorful displays were part of a broader effort by the government to highlight India’s cultural vibrancy to the visiting leaders of Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa and India. The visual spectacle was designed to create a welcoming atmosphere for the international delegation.
As the summit approached, officials reported that the city’s aesthetic transformation had already begun to attract visitors, adding an extra layer of excitement to the diplomatic event.
