Delhi police, operating from the Govindpuri police station in the South‑East district, announced the seizure of a drug‑trafficking network that was distributing MDMA across the capital. Investigators traced the supply chain to a mobile application, identified as a banned instant messaging platform (IMO) that is prohibited in Bangladesh due to its misuse for illicit activities.
The police operation uncovered communications that linked local dealers to the overseas app, suggesting that the platform was being exploited to coordinate shipments of the stimulant. The crackdown focused on the core members who handled procurement, packaging and distribution within Delhi.
During the raid, officers detained the alleged ringleader of the network. The suspect is being held for further interrogation, and the case has been forwarded to the Crime Branch for detailed investigation. Authorities emphasized that the operation aims to curb drug inflow that threatens public safety and national security.
