ACP Manasvi Vashishth was suspended by the Delhi Police following a protest he staged outside the police headquarters, officials said.
Delhi police officials announced the suspension of Assistant Commissioner of Police Manasvi Vashishth after he led a demonstration outside the police headquarters on Monday. The protest, which drew attention from media and onlookers, was reportedly aimed at raising concerns over internal matters, though the exact grievances were not disclosed publicly.
The disciplinary action was taken under the department's internal code of conduct, which mandates strict adherence to protocol for officers on duty. Senior police leadership stated that any form of public dissent by serving officers undermines the force's credibility and discipline, and therefore warranted immediate suspension pending further inquiry.
The suspension will remain in effect until a formal inquiry concludes, after which a final decision on reinstatement or further action will be made. The police department has not released additional details about the investigation or potential repercussions for the officer.
