Delhi Police released a statement on Monday detailing the number of cyber fraud cases reported in the year 2025. The agency recorded 4,003 incidents that resulted in a cumulative financial loss of ₹850 crore.
The losses were spread across a range of fraud schemes, including phishing, fake investment offers, and online payment scams. Victims ranged from individual consumers to small businesses, all of whom reported significant monetary damage.
In response, the police have intensified their cybercrime unit’s investigations and increased public awareness campaigns to educate citizens about common fraud tactics. The department also announced plans to collaborate with financial institutions to strengthen fraud detection systems.
