Delhi Police Halts India Alliance March Near Akashvani Building

Delhi police intervened on Saturday to stop a march organized by the India Alliance, a coalition of opposition parties, as it approached the Akashvani (All India Radio) building. Officials said the decision was taken to prevent any breach of public order and to safeguard the premises of the national broadcaster.
The police deployed a sizeable contingent of personnel and set up barricades around the media complex, directing the marchers to disperse and follow alternative routes. No reports of violence or injuries were recorded during the operation.
Authorities have not disclosed the exact number of participants, but the move reflects heightened sensitivity to large political gatherings in the capital ahead of upcoming elections. The India Alliance has not yet issued a formal statement on the police action.
