Delhi Police dismantled a Rs 9‑crore anti‑cancer drug racket, arresting 17 suspects who were allegedly involved in distributing counterfeit medicines and diverting genuine anti‑cancer drugs from hospitals.
Delhi Police on Tuesday dismantled a Rs 9‑crore anti‑cancer drug racket that was operating across the capital. The operation, carried out in the Delhi NCR region, led to the arrest of 17 suspects believed to be involved in the distribution of counterfeit medicines and the diversion of genuine anti‑cancer drugs from hospitals and government institutions. Police recovered large quantities of fake drugs and seized documents linking the suspects to several medical facilities. Authorities said the crackdown was part of a broader effort to curb the illegal drug trade and protect patients from sub‑standard medicines.
