Delhi Police Close Six Metro Stations Amid Heightened Jantar Mantar Protests
In response to escalating BJP and Congress demonstrations at Jantar Mantar, Delhi police shut down six key metro stations as a precautionary step.
Delhi police have closed six major metro stations as a precautionary measure following intensified protests by the BJP and Congress at Jantar Mantar.
The decision comes amid heightened tensions in the capital, with both parties ramping up demonstrations in the historic square. Authorities cited safety concerns and the need to maintain public order as the primary reasons for the closures.
The six stations, among the busiest in the city, were shut to prevent potential clashes and to facilitate smoother crowd management. Commuters are advised to use alternative routes and stations during the period of closure.
Police officials have stated that the move is temporary and will be reviewed as the situation evolves. The closures aim to ensure the safety of both protesters and daily commuters in the capital.
