Delhi police have dismantled a nationwide marriage fraud network, apprehending nine suspects in a raid.
Delhi police announced the successful bust of a pan‑India criminal network that used the pretext of marriage to cheat victims. The operation, carried out in the capital, resulted in the seizure of evidence linking the suspects to multiple fraudulent schemes across the country.
The gang reportedly approached individuals under the guise of arranging marriages, extracting money through false promises and forged documents. Investigators said the modus operandi involved collecting advance payments for wedding expenses that never materialised.
In total, nine alleged members of the ring were taken into custody. Authorities are continuing to probe the extent of the scam and will file charges against the arrested individuals, while urging the public to remain vigilant against similar frauds.
