A criminal gang that promised admission to Delhi Technological University in exchange for money has been uncovered and its members detained by Delhi police.
Delhi police announced today that a criminal network operating under the guise of securing admissions to Delhi Technological University (DTU) has been dismantled. The operation, which targeted aspiring students and their families, involved collecting fees with the false promise of guaranteeing a seat at the university.
The gang reportedly approached candidates through social media and personal contacts, claiming to have influence over the university's admission process. Victims were asked to pay substantial sums, believing the money would secure their enrollment.
According to police officials, the investigation uncovered multiple layers of the scam, leading to the arrest of several individuals linked to the racket. The authorities have seized cash and documents that were used to lure applicants.
Police have warned the public to verify any admission-related offers directly with the university and to report suspicious approaches. The case underscores the need for vigilance against fraudulent schemes exploiting the competitive education landscape in Delhi.
