Delhi officials pledge to restore Yamuna to pristine condition

Delhi's municipal leadership announced a formal resolution to undertake comprehensive measures aimed at cleaning the Yamuna River. The pledge underscores the administration's focus on improving water quality and reviving the river's ecological health. Officials highlighted that the river, which flows through the national capital, has long suffered from pollution and encroachment, affecting both the environment and public health. The resolution calls for coordinated action among various agencies to address waste discharge, illegal dumping, and habitat degradation. While specific initiatives were not detailed, the commitment signals a renewed emphasis on restoring the Yamuna to a condition suitable for recreation and biodiversity.
