Delhi and the National Capital Region have imposed a complete ban on construction and demolition activities to curb air pollution during the peak smog season.
Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) authorities have imposed a comprehensive ban on construction and demolition activities to mitigate air pollution during the upcoming peak smog season.
The Delhi Pollution Control Committee announced that all construction sites, demolition work, and related operations such as blasting and heavy machinery use will be prohibited.
The restriction will be in force from 1 October to 30 November, covering the months when particulate matter levels typically surge due to crop burning and industrial emissions.
Officials say the move aims to lower particulate matter concentrations, protect public health, and help the region meet national air quality standards.
