The Delhi administration is reviewing Haryana’s Parivar Pehchan ID scheme to see if it can be replicated in the capital, officials said.
Delhi’s municipal authorities have opened discussions on whether to replicate Haryana’s Parivar Pehchan ID system, a scheme that issues family‑wide identification numbers to streamline welfare delivery. Officials said the move is aimed at improving accuracy in targeting subsidies and reducing duplication across schemes.
The Haryana model, launched in 2022, links households to a unique ID that consolidates data from multiple government programs. Delhi’s officials are examining the technical and administrative requirements, including data integration with existing platforms such as the Delhi Resident Identity Card.
Sources within the Delhi government indicated that a task force will prepare a feasibility report before any formal decision is taken. The review comes amid broader efforts to modernise the capital’s welfare infrastructure and enhance transparency in public service delivery.
