Delhi Metro Warns Influencers About Dangerous Phone‑Sticking Trend

Delhi Metro has issued a warning to social media influencers after a viral 'phone sticking' reel trend caused injuries on its trains.
Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) released a formal notice this week urging influencers and content creators to stop promoting the so‑called "phone sticking" trend on platforms like Instagram Reels and TikTok.
The trend involves users attaching their phones to train windows, seats or railings using adhesive or suction, then filming the act. DMRC said the practice has led to several injuries, including broken fingers and falls, as the phones become unstable during train movement.
According to DMRC officials, the trend has attracted a large following among young commuters, and the metro has received multiple complaints about accidents caused by the stunt.
The warning calls for immediate cessation of such content and reminds passengers that any form of obstruction or unsafe behaviour on the platform or train can result in fines or legal action under the Metro Rail (Safety) Regulations.
DMRC also urged passengers to report any suspicious or dangerous behaviour to the metro staff.
