Lieutenant Governor Tarneet Singh Sandhu has directed agencies involved in laying cables and pipelines to coordinate their work, aiming to prevent repeated digging of Delhi’s roads and the resulting waterlogging and dirt.

Lieutenant Governor Tarneet Singh Sandhu issued the directive during a meeting with officials from various utility agencies operating in the city.

He emphasized that repeated excavation for cable and pipeline laying not only damages roads but also leads to waterlogging and unsanitary conditions during monsoon.

The LG asked the agencies to prepare a joint schedule and share information in advance so that digging is done only once and roads are restored promptly.

Officials said the move is expected to reduce inconvenience for commuters and lower maintenance costs for the civic bodies.
