Delhi authorities have introduced fresh pollution control measures, banning all construction and demolition activities in the city to curb air pollution.
Delhi has rolled out stringent pollution curbs, prohibiting construction and demolition activities across the capital to tackle worsening air quality. The move, announced by the municipal corporation, comes amid rising particulate matter levels that have prompted health warnings. The ban covers all new construction sites, ongoing demolition projects, and related activities such as blasting and heavy equipment use. Authorities say the restriction will remain in force until the end of the monsoon season, after which a review will be conducted. The decision follows a series of studies linking construction dust to Delhi’s deteriorating air pollution indices.
