The Delhi administration on Monday night reversed its decision to assign Assistant Commissioner of Police Vivek Bhagat the additional duty of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The Delhi government announced late Monday that it would not proceed with the earlier order to give ACP Vivek Bhagat the current‑duty charge of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police.
The move comes after internal discussions within the Home Department, which had initially proposed the additional posting to fill a temporary vacancy in the DCP‑level hierarchy.
Officials said the reversal does not affect Bhagat’s existing responsibilities as ACP of the relevant district, and that the department will consider other options for the vacant post.
No further comment was provided by the police spokesperson, and the decision is expected to be recorded in the upcoming administrative orders.
